Troubleshooting
Common issues and their solutions for SexLab P+.
Installation Issues
Animations Not Appearing
Symptoms: Animations don’t show up in MCM or during scenes.
Solutions:
- Check SLSB files are installed
- Verify JSON files exist in
Data/SKSE/Plugins/SexLabRegistry/
- Verify JSON files exist in
- Verify load order
- SLSB conversions must overwrite SLAL packs
- SexLab P+ must win all SL conflicts
- Run behavior generation
- Use Pandore or Nemesis
- Ensure it completes without errors
- Ensure it is outputting to the desired folder
- If using Pandora ensure your desired animation packs are recognized in its RIGHT-side pannel
- Check for file conflicts
- In MO2: Right-click P+ → Information → Conflicts
- Nothing should overwrite P+ files
MCM Not Showing
Symptoms: SexLab doesn’t appear in MCM.
Solutions:
- Wait after loading
- MCM can take 1-2 minutes to populate
- Check SkyUI
- Ensure SkyUI is installed and working
- Verify SKSE
- Launch through SKSE loader
- Check SKSE version matches Skyrim version
- Verify your SL versions
- verify the correct SL & SLP+ versions are installed
CTD on Scene Start
Symptoms: Crash to desktop when a scene tries to start.
Solutions:
- Check Skyrim version
- 1.6.1170 = supported
- 1.6.640 = will eventually crash
- Install Mfg Fix NG
- Required for facial expressions
- Check for mod conflicts
- Remove recently added mods and test
- Reduce animation count
- Total animation count should not exceed skyrim’s engine limit of 65,534 (2^16-2)
- Include the default (20k), OAR, and FNIS/Pandora registered animations in your count
Runtime Issues
Scenes Getting Stuck
Symptoms: Scene won’t end, actors frozen.
Solutions:
- Use MCM Reset
- MCM → SexLab → Debug → Reset
- Console commands
stopquest yourscenequest - Hard reset
- Save, restart game, load
Wrong Animations Playing
Symptoms: Wrong animation for the situation.
Solutions:
- Check animation tags
- Animations may have incorrect tags
- Filter settings
- Check MCM animation filter settings
- Check filter settings in
SexLab.ini - Filter settings are defined in Settings Reference
- Mod conflict
- Another mod may be overriding selection
T-Pose During Scenes
Symptoms: Actors T-pose during sexlab scenes.
Solutions:
- Check for version missmatch
- SLAL & SLSB versions must match EXACTLY
- The only exception to this is ZAZ8.0+, which can use the ZAZ7.0+ SLSB conversion

Actors in Wrong Positions
Symptoms: Actors floating, clipping through ground, or misaligned.
Solutions:
- Terrain issues
- Move to flatter ground
- Sliding/floating actors can sometimes be fixed by increasing the fMinSetupTime in
sexlab.ini
- Furniture conflicts
- Move away from furniture/objects
- Animation offset issues
- Some animations have incorrect offsets
- Offsets can be adjusted in the scene menu and are persistent between saves
Overlays not Applying
Symptoms: Overlays (such as cum fx) are not applying post scene
Solutions:
- Should the overly be applied?
- Verify the actor(s) that would apply the overlay are actually reaching their required condition
- Ensure all other conditions are otherwise being met
- Is the Actor reaching climax?
- If using separate orgasm mode ensure the required actor is reaching climax
NPCs Flying After Scene Ends
Symptoms: Flying/floating NPC’s or “helicopter legs” after scenes end
Solutions:
- Heels fix
- Heelsfix & P+ Integration by MissC - Recommended Mods

- SSE Engine Fixes - Recommended Mods
Performance Issues
Script Lag During Scenes
Symptoms: Stuttering, delayed animations, input lag.
Solutions:
- Reduce concurrent scenes
- Limit NPCs/scenes running at once
- Check Papyrus load
- Too many script-heavy mods
- Upgrade to SSD
- Faster storage helps script loading
Slow Scene Startup
Symptoms: Long delay before scenes begin.
Solutions:
- This shouldn’t happen with P+
- If it does, something may be overwriting P+
- Check for old SL versions
- Ensure no vanilla SL files remain
- Open and close console menu
- Bug in SexLab P+ furniture selection/menu logic
- Opening and closing any menu may help till it’s fixed
Audio Issues
No Voice Audio
Symptoms: No moaning/voice sounds during scenes.
Solutions:
- Check voice packs
- P+ requires P+-compatible voice packs
- Old voice packs don’t work
- MCM volume settings
- Check SexLab → Sound settings
- Windows audio
- Check game audio isn’t muted
Getting Papyrus Logs
Logs help diagnose issues. Here’s how to enable them:
Method 1: BethINI
- Open BethINI
- Go to “General” tab
- Enable:

- Papyrus Profiling
Method 2: Manual INI Edit
Add to skyrim.ini:

Reporting Bugs
When reporting issues, include:
- P+ version - From mod page/Discord
- Skyrim version - 1.5.97, 1.6.1170, etc.
- Mod list - Or at least SL-related mods
- Steps to reproduce - What triggers the issue
- Papyrus logs - Attach the log file
